INGREDIENTS IN OUR HAIR OIL THAT PROMOTE HAIR GROWTH

HEY ALL!
Today I will break down all the ingredients used in our hair oil and mask and how they promote hair growth because I know we all want to reach our hair goals, keep our edges and retain some length.

Through my research, I have found that almost all carrier oils and essential oils have either one of these five benefits:

  1. Strengthening of the strands to prevent excess breakage
  2. Stimulation of hair follicles which promotes hair growth
  3. Moisturisation to avoid dry and dull-looking hair
  4. Anti-microbial properties help to reduce signs of dandruff and itchiness of the scalp.
  5. Reduces hair loss

This is great! Right? As these oils are truly targeting all the areas our hair needs. So let's dive in and take a deeper look at each ingredient and how they interact with our hair.

Avocado Oil:

Acts as a natural moisturizer without weighing down your locs or curls. It is known for penetrating the hair shaft and nourishing the hair, resulting in healthier, glossier locks.  It achieves this by acting as a sealant to lock in moisture from water. It won’t cause buildup as the oil is lightweight. Surprisingly avocado oil contains biotin, minerals such as magnesium and potassium, antioxidants and vitamins A, B and E which combined help stimulate blood flow to the scalp.

Apricot Kernel Oil:

Softens the hair shaft, soothes the scalp and draws in moisture

Hemp seed Oil:

Support the thickening of the hair and reviving damaged hair.

Pomegranate Oil:

The antioxidants found in pomegranate oil provide a shield of protection against the damaging effects of oxidative stress and prevent the accumulation of dirt on the scalp. It’s got a good antidandruff activity to support hair growth. Through its ability to stimulate the hair follicles, it improves blood flow to the scalp, thus promoting stronger, healthier hair growth.

Peppermint Oil:

This is known to have hair growth properties and it improves blood flow, helping your hair to grow faster and preventing hair loss in certain cases. It has remarkably shown greater signs of growth than minoxidil. Peppermint has been found to contribute to the induction of the early anagen stage which is the period when hair grows. It can be used as an alternative to medicine for hair loss.

Green tea:

is a natural DHT blocker, like saw palmetto prevent and it stops thinning hair and reduces excess hair breakage and hair loss.

Hyssop:

Hyssop oil helps to reduce hair fall and promote healthy hair growth. It is also used for dandruff and hair fall-related issues.

Hibiscus:

Hibiscus contains amino acids that can help to stimulate blood circulation in the scalp, which can encourage hair growth. It can also help to strengthen the hair shaft and prevent breakage.

Moringa:

Is rich in vitamins. Vitamin A helps to build collagen in our hair which is important for having a strong and healthy structure in our hair.

Rich in vitamins C and E which are powerful anti-oxidant that helps to prevent free radical damage from the sun and the environment and to moisturize our hair.

It contains great anti-bacterial properties that help to alleviate dandruff.

It is also rich in inositol which is found in rice water, this helps to repair heat-damaged hair and protects hair from future damage

Rich in zinc which is shown to improve damaged hair follicles. It is also rich in vitamin C and 7 times richer in vitamin C than oranges. Loaded with potassium 5 times more than bananas.

All this can help prevent hair loss and support hair growth.

Spirulina:

Spirulina contains amino acids, essential fatty acids, vitamin A and beta-carotene, all of which are great for hair - repairing damage caused by excessive heat and using poor-quality products. It can also combat hair problems like thinning hair and baldness.

So the evidence is overwhelmingly highlighting that these ingredients combined can really create an amazing hair growth oil packed with nutrients you can trust will get your hair to where it needs to be.
